203 Squadron Champions!
Between the 13th and 15th January, all Squadrons in 158 Regiment took part in the annual Regimental Operational Shooting Competition held at Pirbright ranges, Surrey.
Each team across the squadrons participated in five shoots with the composition of each shoot being different from the last. This is to replicate different scenarios, for example, the ‘Short Range Rural Match’ tests different fire positions in an urban environment (Standing supported against a post, kneeling supported against a wall, standing to kneeling unsupported, and standing supported), and the ‘Fleeting Encounter Match’ also known as the ‘Mover’, is meant to test our ability to shoot at moving targets as opposed to static ones.
203 won 1st place at the competition for best squadron, presented to WO2 Brookes by the Commanding Officer of 158 Regiment. In addition to this, we also scooped up 1st place for best fire team. Well done to everyone who participated in the competition!
