A career in the Army?
Students from the Public Services course at Leicester College came to experience a few elements of RLC life that could be expected from a future career in this corps within the Army.
Thirty-nine students aged between 16-18 visited five stands which included:
- An indoor biathlon laser rifle ranges
- Weapons display: General Purpose Machine Guns, Pistols, SA80 Rifles, and Grenades
- Vehicle display: 6 tonne MAN SV vehicles and land rovers
- A teamwork exercise
- A command and control trust exercise
In addition to these stands, there was also a kit display, and a ration display where the students could learn about the types of meals, snacks, and the nutritional value of everything included in a typical 24 hour ration box.
All of those who attended had a great time and many of them expressed a desire to join the Armed Forces upon completion of their college course.
